Dr. Ayalew is an assistant professor of Emergency Medicine in St Paul's Hospital Millenium Medical College, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He is also working as chief of Academic Affairs at AaBET hospital. He is involved in the education of Emergency Medicine undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He published articles on stroke, peripheral nerve block, and undergraduate students' perception of the Emergency Medicine education environment. He was an author of pocket ECG interpretation guide, co-author of hospital-based Medical disaster response, and section editor of AFEM handbook second edition. He was a member of the project leader on the NORPART project for the Msc Paramedic program.

Addis Ababa Burn, Emergency & Trauma Hospital (AaBET Hospital) is an affiliate of St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College and is inclusive of four major departments; Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, Plastic Reconstructive and Hand Surgery, Orthopedics & Traumatology, and Neurosurgery. AaBET Hospital is a progressive and successfully managed upper-level teaching hospital with 190 and 190 bed-ward departments as well as centers for traumatology, physiotherapy, and spinal disorders. Our facility is recognized as one of the largest government-based trauma & emergency center in the country.
